Raise the Roof was honored to partner with Alicia Tirado and her daughter Dalilah, the Habitat partner family who built their house at 139 Weybosset Street in New Haven. This was the Raise the Roof community’s nineteenth sponsored build. Alicia and Dalilah moved into their completed home in time for the 2022-2023 school year.

Hard work never looked as fun as the December 4, 2021 Saturday (below) when the Daniel Hand Habitat Club put enthusiasm and muscle into helping.
The volunteers from St Andrew’s Episcopal Church framing homeowner Alicia Tirado in the photo below gave a December Saturday to help her frame her house.
Thank you, Defibtech, for your Habitat spirit and hard work…for being a valued part of the Raise the Roof community of support and generously ready to go where needed to help a family build a home. Below are glimpses of two Defibtech groups that gave winter days to build.
Volunteer groups from St. Andrew’s (photos below) had a beautifully repeating habit of showing up to build at Weybosset.
On March 26, the group below from First Congregational Church Guilford worked alongside Alicia to help her build.
Teams from Guilford Savings Bank gave two days of excellent building at Weybosset.
Hearts and Hammers is the perfect name for a bridge club that helps build Habitat homes. They went all in helping Alicia build her house.
The hiking group Intrepids were joined by the Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council 5780 for a day of building.
