We celebrated the groundbreaking for our twelfth build on March 6 at 2 Strong Street, New Haven. Elisa Acety De La Cruz and Eldin Ortiz are the future homeowners, shown here with their family and Raise the Roof President, Don Epperson Sr.

Eliana is standing in front of one of the Message Walls that holds wishes, blessings and artwork shared by visitors to Raise the Roof’s Build on the Green 2015. The messages have been built into the framework of Eliana’s new house. Look closely to see the message she has added.
On Saturday, August 13, 2016, Raise the Roof and Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven celebrated the dedication of 2 Strong Street with partner family and new homeowners Elisa Acety de la Cruz and Eldin Ortiz and their family.
Antoine Claiborne, Habitat construction manager, presents Elisa and family with a hammer during the traditional Passing of the Hammer, which symbolizes the transfer of responsibility for the house to the new homeowners.
Raise the Roof President, Don Epperson Sr., thanked volunteers and supporters for their many contributions .
2 Strong Street is Eliana’s new home.
JoAnn and Cathy of Southford Falls Quilt Guild, Middlebury CT presented Elisa, Eldin and Eliana with a beautiful handmade full-size quilt. The Guild has made and presented quilts to Habitat families for the past several years.
